Our Community

We're a bit eclectic, but it works out.

We're a bit different

Defining something as a community rather than a guild is a very important separation to make. It's no longer about the quality of the leadership or their raid group. It is suddenly more about the quality of the members within. Saying something is a community should come with a bit of weight. It's a large undertaking to say you want to build a community, but that's exactly what we want to do with 404 Guild Not Found.

A simple goal

We are seeking to do something more than just found a guild that can run through some dungeons and craft some gear. We strive to build a group of people who come together because it's like being home with friends. We don't judge people based on their gear score, but rather the personality and humor they possess. Creating this type of group is not an easy task, but it is a hell of a lot of fun!

A Bit of Detail

Sometimes defining things helps a bit.

Play all the things

Play all the things

We're not about to limit people in what they play with their friends. This is a group for people to have fun and enjoy whatever game they want. That being said, our primary focus is on our presence in Final Fantasy XIV, 404's flagship game. Outside of that though, we're basically just a group of friends that will play pretty much anything together.

If you are into just hanging out with a relaxed group of people and finding some folks to play one of our officially supported games then you may be in the right place.

Member Driven Events

Member Driven Events

One of the unique things that we do here is open up our event scheduling to you, the member. The leadership is always glad to lend a helping hand in preparing events. We all have ideas for the kind of content we enjoy whether it be PvE, PvP, or social events. We also feel it is important for our members to be proactive in developing the events they like.

In other words, if you want to set up a dungeon run then we will give you the tools and the help to set it up. The community is your oyster! Shuck and devour it!... Or you know, just schedule the run on our nifty event calendar thing. Whichever is good for you.

Member Focused Structure

Member Focused Structure

This is a unique environment for more than just our personality. We are tired of the top down leadership style that most communities seem to love. Let's take a look at this. Most guilds have an “inner-circle” and a 20 page charter where the leader claims himself to be the one true chosen leader of all things!

Ya I'll be honest... That thought process freaks me out. Our leadership is down to the earth and mostly here to just facilitate the back-end garbage that no one wants to deal with anyways. The leadership keeps up with maintenance of the website, handling of applications, administration in Teamspeak and many other tasks that you'll probably never notice. That is totally okay. We don't want any recognition. What we do want is to see our community members having a good time in a smooth and well-working environment.

At 404 Guild Not Found, we want to build the guild that you'll enjoy being friends with instead of just a group of people to get crafted items from.

A Mature Environment

A Mature Environment

Yes we do have an age restriction and that age is 21. This is non-negotiable. Look, it's not that we're trying to be jerks or anything. It's just that we are looking for a group of people who can handle things like grown-ups. Age does not necessarily represent your capacity to act in a rational way, but it certainly doesn't hurt. That is the reason that we hold to an age restriction.

Maturity is based on a lot more than just age though. We also want people who know how to handle a conflict. We want community members that are interested in building a cool place to come home and unwind in. If you don't know how to handle a little bit of off-color humor or perhaps you do not understand how to handle conflict in a respectable way, then this is not the group for you.

If you can handle yourself in a respectful and fun way then I hope you're still on board!

Community First

Community First

This part is a little difficult to understand, but here it goes. You see, this is a group of friends. We are looking for people who are like us. We want to find others who will get our brand of humor and will accept our silly antics. We are rarely serious about much of anything and we think that is one of our better qualities. We view gaming in different ways. Some of us are hardcore, some of us are crafters, some of us just really want to stand around and chat with people in global. That's the nice thing for us. Though we are a diverse and open group, we are bound by the fact that we have some oddball personalities. We have sealed our friendships in the quality of the time we have together and not in our membership numbers.

Just remember, this community is very picky about its members because we know the kind of group we want.

Grouping, Civilized

Grouping, Civilized

Personally I'm really tired of PUGs as well. Some of them can make for a decent time, but most of the time it's just an exercise in frustration. We aim to set up many runs and have the necessary tools to keep it civilized. Our event registration system allows anyone to set up a time for a run. It allows others to see those events and register for them so you know who is going to be there to group with you. We also maintain a Teamspeak server to facilitate voice communications rather than having to type it all out. Also we happen to think Teamspeak is a pretty cool place to hang out with our buddies.

Running around like a monkey chasing a banana on an RC car is not something we are about to do. Expect to find a fun group of people that are willing to get together should the time come. Finally we can group without that damn banana!

Final Fantasy XIV

Our primary game and addiction.

Server-Wide Events

Server-Wide Events

Large events that give the Behemoth community something to rally around are our specialty. We host quite a few of them throughout the year and it has caused us to develop quite the reputation on our server. It's amazing to be known for something so positive. "Hey, you're that party guild!" is something we love hearing every time.
Community Events

Community Events

We don't just focus on the server at large though. We also strive to give our members something entertaining to do outside of the normal grind. Guild Darts, Hide & Seek, community escort quests, and many other shenanigans make their rounds within the guild. We like to think it keeps things spicy.
Grouping For Sanity

Grouping For Sanity

Knowing that finding a group for some content that you need to get done won't be an exercise in futility is kind of a great thing. We're by no means the most elite raiders in the game, but we are able to get a lot of content taken care of in a timely manner. Besides, it's more fun to wipe with friends.

Our Tabletops

Not everything has to be a video game.

  • Dungeon World

    Dungeon World

A simple and unique system developed by Adam Koebel, Dungeon World removes a lot of the overhead and focuses on the role-play in tabletop games. Do you want to do a flip over the enemy to gain an advantage on the next attack? Roll 2d6+Dex. It's that simple. Everything in the game is 2d6 basically. Our DW campaign focuses on telling the tales of Blackleech, a steampunk world with Lovecraftian horrors, political intrigue, and some other twists along the way. This campaign is run by our GM Solanales every other week on Mondays.
  • Dungeons & Dragons

    Dungeons & Dragons

The old classic still stands strong today. Originally released in 1974, Dungeons & Dragons has been going strong for over 40 years now. Through the various iterations and editions, one thing has always remained the same and that is the fun of sitting around with your friends and rolling some dice. Our campaign, Blackened Taan, is sent in the cruel lands of the Endless Wastes and features five characters that nearly found themselves being sold into slavery, only to get another chance at life as adventurers. The world is a harsh one and our player characters must do all the can to survive it. Blackened Taan is hosted every other Tuesday by our DM Solanales.
  • Mage: The Awakening

    Mage: The Awakening

Using a variation of the White Wolf D10 system, Mage: The Awakening removes the high fantasy setting so common with the idea of magic and brings it to the dark underbelly of the modern world. More than frail old men with enchanted sticks, these mages walk the streets and bring forth supernatural fury in the shadows. Following a baffling display of light in the sky on New Year’s Eve, a group of men and women find themselves awakened to the world of magic. Unable to go back, they must see the city of Boston through new eyes as they come to understand the world just beyond the veil. The campaign is hosted by Storyteller Fahrenheit every other Sunday.
  • Vampire: The Masquerade

    Vampire: The Masquerade

Started in 1991, the White Wolf gaming system is a D10 based system that centers on the dark worlds that exist within our own throughout history. Vampire the Masquerade is a story of the vampires that rule the night and strike fear into the hearts of mortals… or would, if their dark machinations were not obscured to the common man. Intrigue, violence and horror run rampant in modern day Boston as the vampires in the seat of power struggle to maintain the crumbling wall of secrecy that threatens to expose them all. This campaign is run every other Friday by our Storyteller Fahrenheit.
  • Werewolf: The Apocalypse

    Werewolf: The Apocalypse

White Wolf’s second foray into TableTop gaming using their popular d10 system, Werewolf: The Apocalypse is a game that blends spirituality, politics and dark horror into a rich, robust setting. It tells the story of the Garou, a people who are both man and wolf, equal parts flesh and spirit. They are fighting a losing war against the forces of entropy and corruption that slowly eat away at the planet, while their people are dying and fewer of their children are breeding true. Infighting and distrust between different Tribes weakens them even as their enemies assault the sacred places they are sworn to protect. With a terrible cancer growing in deceptively beautiful Santa Barbara, the local Garou try desperately to keep it in check. Will they succeed in protecting the city from defilement, or will it fall into depravity and ruin? This campaign is run bi-weekly on Mondays, by our Storyteller Tangwen.
